How Test Prep PRO Works
1-on-1, 8 weeks, 3 hours per week
Our Test Prep PRO sessions meet 3 hours per week for 8 weeks. With 1-on-1 attention, your student will get big results. We limit our 1-on-1 students to 6 every PRO Session.
Each week students choose a block of 2 hours for 1 session followed by another hour, or a 3 hour block depending on availability. Sessions can be LIVE on Zoom, in our Encinitas office, or a combination.
This trains students to sit still and focus for longer periods of time–something many students struggle with. We know it might sound like a lot to handle, but we keep things simple. Each class is broken up into easy-to-learn lessons, and students get extra support with homework, handouts, and sample problems.
Topics include: scoring rules, timing strategies, vocabulary building, math review and skill building, writing strategies, college application basics, and so much more!
Our focus will highlight YOUR student’s strengths and weaknesses.
ALL CLASS MATERIALS INCLUDED
Easy-to-read class materials, homework assignments, work books, and take-home practice tests are all included, for no additional cost. These materials cover everything from triangle tricks to writing tips. Hand-picked by our Test Prep PRO tutor, all materials are carefully vetted to guarantee they represent precisely what students see on test day.
PERSONALIZED TESTING STRATEGIES
Our PRO tutor works closely with each student. She makes sure every goal is achievable, yet challenging. Based on their progress, students adjust their testing strategies to make the most of their strengths. With the nonstop motivation and encouragement of our ACT & SAT PRO tutor, students push their scores and confidence to new heights!
UNLIMITED PRACTICE TESTS
After completing a Test Prep PRO Session, students can keep practicing as long as they want! Practice tests can be scheduled with our SAT & ACT PRO tutor, whenever there’s availability.
Each practice test includes a one-hour block of time for group review with our SAT & ACT PRO tutor to review the test, ask questions, update strategies, and set new goals. If needed, students can do additional review during their 1-on-1 sessions. This is where students put their testing strategies to work and see big improvements. So don’t forget to take advantage of this huge value and schedule practice tests before test day!
REGULAR REMINDERS + NEWS

During the school year, we schedule PRO Sessions Mondays through Thursdays, afternoon hours. Some Saturday and Sunday hours available.
During the summer, we schedule PRO for weekday mornings and afternoons. No weekends during the summer.
We add new sessions to our scheduling tool as soon as they’ve been opened.

Practice Testing
Free, unlimited practice testing (with one hour of test review) is included for both programs.
Content & Structure
All of our college prep services offer the same high quality testing strategies and personalized coaching, but their schedules and content will vary.
For example, our 1-on-1 Test Prep PRO covers everything from one specific test (the ACT or SAT) to both tests (the SAT and the ACT). All PRO Sessions are completely individualized and follow an eight-week schedule. Meanwhile, our SAT & ACT Seminar Classes always cover both the SAT and the ACT and follow a nine-class schedule.
Class Size
SAT & ACT Seminar Classes have a maximum of six students per seminar–the optimal size for the best small group learning experience. Meanwhile, our 1-on-1 Test Prep PRO Sessions are private.
Scheduling
Our SAT & ACT Seminar Classes are scheduled in advance and posted to our easy scheduling tool, which means you can register at any time just by visiting our scheduling page. For Test Prep PRO Sessions, you’ll need to apply first and once you are accepted, contact us directly to schedule.
Designed for students to complete in 9 weeks, our Seminar Classes meet once a week for roughly four hours. In comparison, our Test Prep PRO sessions meet 3 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions About the ACT & SAT
What are the ACT & SAT?
They are two different standardized tests. Think of them as measurement tools for colleges that are used to measure the academic skills and readiness of students in the same way you would use a ruler to measure a distance. While both tests have sections on math, reading, English, and writing, they are very different! For example, the ACT has a section on science, while the SAT does not. To make things extra confusing, they also have different scoring systems. Ugh! Don’t worry–we can help you make sense of it!
